We started harvest this year on September 25th. So far, yields have been excellent, except for where the June windstorm caused damage (our worst damage was 50% of the corn blew over!). The main story for this fall has been the breakdown bug on our combine and corn head, seems like something breaks every other day and its only 2 year old! With the breakdowns, we are experiencing first hand the supply chain issues and part shortages that have cause many headaches to all farmers. Besides that, harvest has been going great this year and our tilling contractor (D&H Drainage) has been busy installing field tile for drainage right behind us on certain farms to help increase yields and land value. Hopefully the rain will stop soon and we can get back to the fields! – Aidan Groves
